Our Community of Healing Artists & Partners
The Wellness Sanctuary offers on-site workshops on a variety of self discovery activities in a peaceful, tranquil setting, to process recovery issues, inspire growth and elevate healing. Our Participants take part in Recovery yoga, Buddist meditation, Pilates for PTSD, Native American ceremonies and teachings. Those interested in exploring topics not covered in these workshops can find instruction in everything from hip hop to haiku through the wealth of Healing Artists, Associates that are part of The Wellness Sanctuary Community including, The Lakota Way Healing Center, Center for Contemplative Living in Denver, Mangala Shri Bhuti, Soul Tree Yoga Studio, and Rocky Mountain Pilates and Mile High Church.

As Spiritual Care Director, of The Wellness Sanctuary, Paul Soderman Stover continues 31 years clean & sober and has been trained for over 25 years by Native American Teachers. Paul shares his personal traditional healing path, including the Inipi-Lakota Sweat Lodge, Hanblechya-Vision Quest and Lakota songs opening a way for individual introspection, transpersonal development. Former Executivte Director of World Hope Foundaiotn, a Native Amreican nonprofit organization for 12 years and an Associate at AIM House, a Halfway House for Men, Paul is the Co-Creator of The Sanctuary with his wife of 21 years, Cathie. Paul and Cathie are both members of the Board of Directors at The Lakota Way Healing Center.

Dr. Patty Luckenback
Dr. Patty Luckenbach personifies the many expressions of love provided by the Prayer and Care Center at Denver's Mile Hi Church, which she directs. She is noted for radiating love, sincerity, and generosity of spirit. Her inspiring messages reflect her reverence for nature and for ancient spiritual principles. She speaks with the wisdom of the sages and the humility of Mother Teresa. She is an epicenter of compassion. Her quiet strength is founded in an unwavering faith that banishes fear and instills a rare depth of peace and love. Her life is dedicated to enhancing others by identifying and developing their creative potential and self awareness. Dr. Patty holds a Master's degree in therapeutic psychology and is also a research associate of existential metapsychiatry. She has been an Associate Minister at Mile Hi Church for 23 years.

David Frenette, author of The Path of Centering Prayer: Deepening Your Experience of God, is a contemplative spiritual director at the Center for Contemplative Living in Denver, in Colorado, as well as for clients worldwide. He has an MA in transpersonal counseling psychology, and is an adjunct faculty member of Naropa University.Although David still dedicates significant time each day to solitary contemplative prayer, after spending much of the last thirty years in monastic retreat, he increasingly experiences God when engaged in the ordinariness of everyday life. David’s spiritual father for thirty years has been Father Thomas Keating, the founder of Centering Prayer. In his preface to David’s book, Fr, Keating writes, “David's lived experience of being contemplative in ordinary daily life will be invaluable to those who aspire to do the same thing. He is an excellent advisor in practical affairs upon who judgment I am happy to rely. He is one of God’s greatest gifts to the work of centering prayer and to me.”

Gelong Tashi Gonpo
Clean and Sober Buddhist Monk at Mangala Shri Bhuti. Tashi enjoys teaching Buddhist philosophies such as loving kindness, our universal longing for happiness, an overview of the mind's natural capacity, and an introduction to the egolessness of self.

Meet Yogacharya Dharmananda, "loving called, Swamiji" Yogacharya Dharmanandaji is a direct disciple of H.H. Late Yoga Samrat Shri Vishvaguruji Maharaj, Mahamandaleshwar, who was the Founder-President of International Vishvaguru Meditation and Yoga Institute, Ved Niketan Dham, Swargashram, Rishikesh, India. Yogacharya Dharmanandaji shares his considerable expertise in: The Science of Yoga, Meditation,Hindu Philosophy and Spirituality, Tantra, Vedanta, and Spiritual counseling.

Sylvie Sherman Bloch
Trained as a Specialist in Psychodrama Therapy, Sylvie will help you bring out the best in yourself, experience happiness, flourish and grow, reaching new levels of intimacy. She knows you can become the best parent, partner or spouse you can be. Sylvie specializes in Experiential (action) methods. Techniques are used in a supportive structure in order to gently bypass natural defenses and raise consciousness of feelings and attachment needs. Groups focus on process, how we have been living, rather than specific details and problems to be solved. Simultaneously, a corrective emotional experience is provided in a safe community (small group) where Participants may attach to others and practice authenticity allowing desired changes to begin. Sylvie is grateful for 25 years of recovery from alcochol and drugs use.

Lisa Fierer teaches yoga at two Detox Centers, through Phoenix Multisport, bringing the practice to people recovering from substance abuse, and supporting the recovery of body, mind, and spirit. In addition, Lisa teaches for Corepower Studios and Colorado Athletic Club. She is also a teacher of Sanskrit Mantras and their meaning, revelaing how to bring spritual practice into our everyday lives.

Joyce Calvo Chen a 12-Step Spiritual Director, developed Yoga For Recovery (Y4R) for anyone healing from an addiction. We can become overly attached to many things in life while seeking peace and happiness. Some of these things can turn into addictions. Sometimes we cannot stop a behavior and feel it is causing us harm, or interfering with our sense of self and serenity. Some addictions in addition to alcohol and drugs are work, activity, food, relationships, gambling, television and the Internet to name a few. Y4R addresses obsessive lifestyles and is also beneficial for anyone who is affected by codependency or someone else’s struggle with addictive behaviors.

Taylor Howe has been a recovering alcoholic for over 10 years. Her specialized work combines yoga and Pilates for practical and effective healing of the body, mind and soul gently integrating recovery from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD. Taylor received her Pilates certification from Power Pilates in 2005, and Tai Massage in 2004. She is a charismatic teacher that brings warmth and challenge to the essence of her classes and privates.

Lisa Turner is a food writer, nutrition consultant and developer of Inspired Eats, a recipe and healthy kitchen iPhone app. She has written five books on food, nutrition and healing, and hundreds of magazine articles appearing in Self Magazine, Yoga Journal, Vegetarian Times, Natural Solutions. Alternative Medicine Magazine and many others. We are grateful to have Lisa as our healing foods consultant. In the field of food psychology and emotional eating, Lisa has studied the work of and trained with Marc David, Geneen Roth and Evelyn Tribole. She has also received extensive training in a number of body-mind modalities, meditation practices and embodiment therapies, and is certified in Sivananda Yoga, Shiatsu, Reiki and other energy systems. Lisa is also black belt in ninjutsu.

Reb. Patrice Spitz
Reb. Patrice Spitz a Rabbinic Pastor, teaches how to connect to Jewish prayer in a meaningful way. Learn about the deeper meanings of prayers and how to personalize them. Experience the power of niggunim (wordless melodies) Learn the flow of the service and how it helps us connect to each part of ourselves. Reb Patrice is passionate about the power of prayer and the way Jewish prayers can be conduit for a deeper connection to God, ourselves and tradition.

Cathie Soderman-Stover
Cathie cherishes her recovery from trauma, and addiction being clean and sober for over 24 years. She shares the sacred journey of health and happiness in her marriage to Spirtual Care Director, Paul Soderman. With an enthusiatic heart she brings over 20 years of Program Management experence and spirtual life skills to facilitate the administraion responsabilites to the always increasing finacial abundance of The Wellness Sanctuary.
